Francesco Molinari wins the British Open

The Turin-born golfer made history as the first Italian to win a Major golf championship, the British Open in Carnoustie, Scotland. Francesco Molinari, who came very close to achieving such an important result last year when he came second in the PGA Championship, finished the Open Championship, perhaps the most prestigious of all four main golf events, with a flawless eight-under-par total of 276.

75th Italian Open – Lombardy focuses on the combination of sport & culture

For the 4th consecutive year the Italian Open, the highest national golf event, will be held in Lombardy. If the three previous editions were hosted by the Golf Club Milano in the splendid setting of the Villa Reale in Monza, the Open 2018 will return instead, after the 1997 and 2003 editions, to the Gardagolf Country Club, on the shores of the magnificent Lake Garda, typically one of the favorite destinations for Italian and foreign tourists.
