Marco Simone Golf Club
RYDER CUP 2023 GOLF COURSE
Created by architect Jim Fazio, the design winds through the undulating hills of the Roman countryside, with the Castello di Marco Simone backdropping numerous holes.
The project for the new course arose with the dual objective of increasing the technical level of the course and creating holes able to create moments of great suspense and spectacularity during the Ryder Cup.
Each hole of the course is equipped with up to 5 starting tee markers, to allow players of various genders and golfing skills to enjoy their experience at Marco Simone.
The Ryder Cup course of the Marco Simone Golf Club was designed by the European Tour Design studio.
Acquasanta Golf Club
The Acquasanta Golf Club is one of the oldest and most prestigious in Italy, in fact, the first document attesting to the existence of the Rome Golf Club dates back to 12th January 1903.
The Acquasanta Golf Club is considered in all respects the oldest circle in Italy, the course is both truly spectacular and unique considering that the Roman aqueduct runs right through part of the 18-hole course.
Olgiata Golf Club
The course is divided in two areas, the east course and the west course, for a total of 27 holes; it was inaugurated in 1961 and designed by English architect C. Kenneth Cotton. The west course is the oldest of the two and has 18 holes. It has been host to particularly important events, some of which international, such as the Italian Open of 2002 or the 1968 and 1984 editions of the Professional World Team Championship.
In 2012, it was almost completely redesigned by American architect Jim Fazio and it is now ready to welcome the International Tournaments, such as the 2019 Italian Open.
