Venetian dreams for golfers

“There is nothing that has struck me in my life like Venice. It is the wonder of the world. A damned ancient dream place, wonderful, immaterial, impossible, perverse, unreal. I arrived there in the evening, and the feeling of that evening and the bright next morning is now a part of me for the rest of my existence.” (Charles Dickens)

Experience the sensations narrated by Dickens with Italy4Golf: you have nine days to feel the thrill of the dream on your skin, to warm up when you wake up pulling the drive on three of the most famous courses in Italy.

The enchantment of the city of lovers, the most beautiful and poignant in the world where every alley and every canal is full of history and beauty, meets in this incredible experience the greens of Golf Venezia, Golf Montecchia and Golf Cà Della Nave.

Experience Venice in the evening, when the racket of daily tourism dies down, strolling through the narrow streets hidden away from the classic routes…
Waking up and having breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Grand Canal

They are unique sensations, which pay off the journey and the hours spent on tour following the program of a magnificent golf holiday.
Here, about this, there would be some courses to know. Leave the cup and the view of the gondolas and follow Italy4Golf, let’s go!

Golf della Montecchia

Founded in 1988, Golf Della Montecchia was designed by British architect Tom Macaulay and financed by farsighted local entrepreneurs. The reception facilities were housed in an ancient noble complex that included a castle, a villa and a farm, and the clubhouse was built in place of an old tobacco drying house.

The design of the course, 18 holes Championship, has respected the existing nature, and the work of the greenkeepers has transformed the turf over time by introducing Bermudagrass everywhere. Montecchia was the site of some stages of the Challenge Tour (2001, 2002, 2013) and the Alps Tour (2010, 2021).

The attention to the sporting activities of the guests led to the opening of a fully equipped gym and swimming pool, while the palate is satisfied by the two restaurants inside the club, also open for meetings and events.

Circolo Golf Venezia

The first nine holes were built in 1928, in an Austrian fortress erected to defend the Venetian lagoon, under the guidance of the Scottish architect Cruikshank from the Maxwell M. Hart studio in Glasgow.
The origin of the project is to be found in a sort of diplomatic incident. The American industrialist Henry Ford, arrived in Venice for a short holiday with a golf bag, asked his friend Conte Volpi di Misurata where to practice on a links.
And there was not, in an Italy where this sport was still unknown. But from that year, in an area of about 100 hectares with the existing structures renovated and embellished, golfers visiting Venice could practice golf while breathing charm and Italian experience.
Expanded to 18 holes in 1951 by architect C.K. Cotton, the course is both parkland, thanks to the majestic trees, and links, due to the presence of open sea winds often insidious, that increase the challenge and require excellent game control.

Various Italian Open (1955, 1960, 1974), national and international tournaments, the coveted annual “Leone di San Marco” trophy and the visit of many personalities are the prestige of a golf course that you will always carry in your heart.

Ca’ della Nave Golf Club

The first one of the three golf courses designed in Italy in the late 1980s by the famous Arnold Palmer. It is inspired by nearby Venice, complicating the course with many water obstacles, present and treacherous in twelve of the eighteen holes.
Starting from the park that shades the seventeenth-century Villa Priuli Grimani Morosini, known precisely as Ca ‘Della Nave, a wonderful Venetian villa that today is the scene of classy receptions, Palmer has created a competitive path of the highest level, both in the technical and aesthetic result, giving life to an 18-hole par 72 Champion course of 6,350 meters inaugurated in 1988 with the Ladies Italian Open.

At the same time, the American champion designed a practical 9-hole Executive course, next to the main course for short game practice.

The landscape, the atmosphere and the quality of the accommodation make it a pleasant stop of this fascinating golf trip, thanks to the possibility of reaching Ca ‘Della Nave with a short trip from Venice
