Venice by the sea. Experience Venice aboard a historic boat
Understanding the soul of Venice in the depths requires you to live it through navigation, which is a fundamental part of its essence. Because Venice is not a city on the sea, it is a city in the sea. That’s why we decided to let you experience all the feelings and emotions that this magnificent city can also give through a full-day cruise together.
We will take you on a traditional Venetian boat equipped with a quiet ecological engine through the beautiful Venice, discovering it from its most famous canals, such as Canal Grande, but also from those unknown spots, more peculiar and less touristy.
Later we will head to the Venice Lagoon. First the North Lagoon, with its varied landscape and its famous islands such as Murano, Burano and Torcello, an area also rich in hidden gems linked to Venice’s history and cultural relevance.
And then the South Lagoon, with its long islands on the seaside: a wild nature reserve in harmony with the city. We will visit abandoned places rich in stories and legends and we will see islands where architectural wonders of every age mix with charming villages of colourful houses.
This unmissable extra activity proposed in the magnificent golf holiday “See Venice… and play golf!” is realized with the collaboration of an exceptional partner: Classic Boats Venice, a start-up of young Venetians who with their own idea of slow-sailing wants to keep alive the true spirit of Venice and to support the local handicraft.
A group of guys that thanks to a German axe master (who moved here a few years ago without being able to leave…) had the idea of recovering historic Venetian boats and build new ones with the taste and style of beautiful local vintage boats but equipped with absolutely ecological engines.
The combination of “historic boat + electric or hydrogen engine” allows respecting the environment because it avoids emissions and noises that undermine the delicate balance of the Lagoon. Plus, thanks to its silence and deliberately reduced speed, it can fully simulate a real historic boat with oars or sail and the feeling of sailing Venice as it has been done for ages.
The result is ecstatic: you will hear just the sound of the sea, the song of birds and the fishermen’s voices!
