WHERE YOU WILL PLAY
The Acquasanta Golf Club is one of the oldest and most prestigious in Italy, in fact, the first document attesting to the existence of the Rome Golf Club dates back to 12th January 1903.
The Acquasanta Golf Club is considered in all respects the oldest circle in Italy, the course is both truly spectacular and unique considering that the Roman aqueduct runs right through part of the 18-hole course.
The Rome Golf Club manages to renew itself while remaining attached to its wonderful roots, to that linksland, to that water, to that historic landscape from which we started.
The Acquasanta Club, as it was designed, endured, and realised by Marquis Vanni, Mr Arthur Flach, Mr R. C. Young, and Mr Hector De Castro, has remained one of the most enjoyable and pleasant golf courses in Italy.
It can be said that as a whole, it is perfect, and like an old painting, it can only be restored and preserved, but not altered.
The course is divided in two areas, the east course and the west course, for a total of 27 holes; it was inaugurated in 1961 and designed by English architect C. Kenneth Cotton. The west course is the oldest of the two and has 18 holes. It has been host to particularly important events, some of which international, such as the Italian Open of 2002 or the 1968 and 1984 editions of the Professional World Team Championship.
In 2012, it was almost completely redesigned by American architect Jim Fazio and it is now ready to welcome the International Tournaments, such as the 2019 Italian Open.
Rome, the dolce vita, the millenary history, the imperial vestiges… and the Ryder Cup!
Owned by the Biagiotti family, a name that in the world means fashion, style and worldliness, the Marco Simone will offer you eighteen holes already prepared for the most important golf event, the US-Europe challenge that will be held right here in 2023.
The majesty of the millenary tower of the castle inside the property will remind at every hole that you are in a unique territory, where the Italian experience is enjoyed at the highest levels.
In Italy4Golf we thought that this golf trip could not miss a game stop at Marco Simone.
We are convinced that only for the four proposed routes it is worth running to prepare suitcases and travel bags!
